Assessment of sleep quality, anxiety, depression, and quality of life in Behçet’s disease

Abstract Background Behçet’s disease (BD) is a multi-organ with different systemic manifestations. While rare in the United States and Europe, it more common Middle East Asia. BD one of commonest encountered vasculitis Egypt. This study aims to evaluate patients' sleep patterns, quality life, psychological aspects. Methods Patients suffering from (thirty patients) 30 matched age sex-healthy control participants were recruited our study. The assessment included entire clinical history laboratory investigations, including erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), C-reactive protein (CRP), Oxygen saturation level. Evaluation presence sleep-disordered breathing was done using Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), Insomnia severity index (ISI), Epworth sleepiness scale (ESS). Hamilton’s anxiety (HAM-A) depression rating scales (HAM-D) used for assessment. Short Form 36 Of Life Scale (SF-36 QOL) assessed participants' life. Results patients suffered significantly higher levels compared group. prevalence insomnia daytime among patients.
